ADM’s Fieldays prize heads to Pirongia!
June 30, 2016
ADM is excited to announce the winners of its Fieldays 2016 Win a Drone competition is Paul and Marion Johnson from Somerton Jerseys, Pirongia.
Paul and Marion were one of the hundreds of entrants who visited the ADM stand in the Mystery Creek pavilion during the Fieldays.
Paul is a fourth generation farmer on their home property (108 years in the family), with a long established pedigree Jersey herd under the Somerton Jerseys Ltd name.
The Johnsons milk 550 cows over three farms on a predominately pasture-based, system 2 type farming operation and love breeding functional cows that fit their profitable pasture-based system.
They use PKE to complement their pasture-based system. This is excellent for filling in feed gaps when pasture can’t keep up with demand.
“We were overwhelmed with the response to the competition during the Fieldays,” said Ross Bowmar, General Manager of ADM New Zealand.
“The idea behind offering a Phantom 3 as a prize was that it’s something a bit different. It’s still ‘new’ technology to the Ag space and the memories created are very unique.
“On behalf of the team at ADM, I am thrilled for Paul and Marion and they inform us they already have a few flight plans mapped out to best capture their farm operations,” Ross said.
